Free bus, ferry for students begins today

Students will travel free on public transport from today onwards.Those eligible to take advantage of the free ride include all public, private and home school students under the age of 18.A Government spokeswoman said: "The Ministry of Tourism and Transport is pleased to remind members of the public that commencing Monday all public transportation will be free for students.

Those eligible to take advantage of the free ride include all public, private and home school students under the age of 18.

A Government spokeswoman said: "The Ministry of Tourism and Transport is pleased to remind members of the public that commencing Monday all public transportation will be free for students.

"On the morning of September 8, all students who are in school uniforms will be able to ride the bus or ferry for free.

"For those students not in uniform on Monday, they will still be able to travel free on public transport, providing they have the appropriate student or school identification.

"Once at school, all students will receive their official Student Transportation Pass from their respective school's administration office."

From Tuesday onwards, presentation of the Student Transportation Pass will ensure free journeys on public buses and ferries.
