An apartment in Warwick suffered around $35,000 worth of damage in a fire on Tuesday night. The fire service was alerted to the blaze at Rockland Crescent in Warwick at 9.52 p.m., and sent four vehicles and ten personnel to the scene.
Spokeswoman Lt. Wenda Roberts said they found smoke coming from the apartment – the upper apartment in a two-storey building – when they arrived. "The fire was quickly brought under control with two firefighters in breathing apparatus using approximately 150 gallons of water, but it took approximately 40 minutes to overhaul the affected area and completely extinguish the fire," she said.
"The fire was contained to a bedroom, however there was extensive smoke and heat damage throughout the apartment."
