Peru too good for Bermuda
Bermuda's Fed Cup team in Ecuador suffered at the hands of Peru in the third match of the tournament on Thursday.
Bermuda went down 3-0 and only managed to win a few games against their opponents.
Mariana Demichelli beat Bermuda's Caitlin Gordon 6-1, 6-2 in the opening match and then Bianca Botto downed Tara Lambert 6-0, 6-0 with Bermuda's doubles team of Tara Lambert and sister Jacklyn Lambert going down 6-0, 6-0 to Mariana Demichelli and Ximena Siles-Luna.
Bermuda lost to Mexico in their opening match of the tournament 3-0 but bounced back to beat Panama 2-1.
The tournament is a round-robin competition with ten countries in two pools. The top nation in each pool plays-off against runner-up in other pool, with two winning nations promoted to Americas Zone Group I
The countries competing are Bahamas, Bermuda, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama, Peru, Trinidad & Tobago. Bermuda still have to play Guatemala and Peru in their group.
