Before the Premier Ewart Brown steps down as Premier, he will be sung off by music legend Gladys Knight.

According to a post on Dr. Brown's Facebook page, the acclaimed musician will perform at the Premier's Farewell Reception and Black Tie Gala Dinner and Show on September 11.

The event will also feature appearances by Star Jones, Pauletta Washington and Lynn Whitfield, and performances by McCartney Darrell, Toni Robinson and Gene Steede.

The event is just one of several intended to celebrate the Premier before he steps down in October.

On Friday, September 10, a "Green and White Beach Party" will be held at Snorkel Park, while on Saturday morning a Golf Tournament will be held at Port Royal.

At noon on September 11, the First Ladies Luncheon will be held, with the Gala Night starting at 6 p.m. at the Fairmont Southampton Hotel.

On Sunday there will be a worship service at the First Church of God in Pembroke, and a "Platinum and Gold Dinner" at the Premier's Residence at 7.30 p.m.

The series of events ends on Monday, September 13 with a "Platinum Sponsors and Celebrity Brunch Cruise" on the Venetian.
