Family Festival in city is postponed due to weather
The Corporation of Hamilton have postponed its Four Seasons Family Festival tomorrow due to high winds associated with Hurricane Danielle.
The festival is now scheduled for Sunday, September 19, said Edward Benevides, the Chief Operating Officer and Secretary for the Corporation.
On a separate note, Mr. Benevides said he was "pleased" with trenching work carried out in the city and anticipated work would finish on schedule.
But he advised motorists this weekend there would only be one lane of traffic onto Front Street, with two lanes resuming on Monday morning.
He said: "The trenching on Reid Street between King and Court Streets has progressed very well this week and we are pleased with the work carried out so far, as we remain on schedule to conclude this project within about three weeks.
"We believe having two lines of traffic along East Broadway continuing along Front Street to Court Street has made the flow a lot smoother for many motorists.
"We have witnessed fewer delays in the morning and many people have commented on how easy the commute has been."
He thanked the motoring public for their support and cautious driving and said these factors have "made this first week a huge success,"
