Colts urged to bare teeth

Devonshire Colts skipper Aljame Zuill has called for his side to be more ruthless in front of goal tonight when they take on St. David's in the second leg of the Premier Division play-offs.

Last week's match ended in a 2-2 with Aaron Lugo's late penalty being enough to earn First Division St David's an unlikely draw in the first leg at the National Sports Centre's North Field.

Zuill, who had golden opportunities to get a goal himself, has issued the rallying cry for his team-mates, admitting that it's crunch time for Colts' top-flight survival.

"Like I said last week it is do or die, we just have to pull our socks up and look to play a complete game," said Zuill.

"We have to look to score goals whilst not conceding and we will be ok.

"Last week we didn't put our chances away and it came back to haunt us, so we will have to be more efficient in front of goal.

"We have to put away our chances.

If the Premier Division side are to lose, they will be playing 12.30 p.m football next year, but regardless of the result Zuill believes the nucleus of the squad should remain the same for next season.

"I can't really speak on behalf of everyone, but it's up to the team as to what happens.

"They either stay together or go their own way, but I think it's better for them to stay together. If we want to stay up we have to work hard.

"If they feel they can just show up and put on a Colts jersey and be pleased with what happens then fine, that's up to them.

"Even if we go down the side really should stick together."

Colts' miserable season saw them finish their Premier Division campaign winless.

Their sole victory came against Commercial Division outfit Robin Hood in the FA Cup.

To compound their woes, Colts lost coach Ray Jones mid-season after Bermuda Football Association banned him for two years for bringing the game into disrepute.
