The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX) Index inched upwards lat week, gaining 1.63 percent to close at 1,4675.22 on Friday.

The trend was led by Ascendant Group Ltd., which saw its share price rise by 55 cents on the week. The parent company of Belco gained 3.92 percent to close at $14.55.

Bermuda Press Holdings Ltd., which owns this newspaper, gave back five cents and closed the week at $8.50.

Meanwhile, Butterfield Bank gained five cents, or 2.70 percent, to $1.90 on the trading of 89,830 shares.

Share volume on the Royal Gazette/BSX Index was just short of 100,000 and turnover was $277,986.85.
