Boys Brigade set to work cleaning up Barrs Bay
The Bermuda chapter of the Boys Brigade will be diving deep tomorrow in order to clean up a polluted waterfront.
Ten members of the Bermuda Boys Brigade will be cleaning up Barrs Bay in Hamilton, as part of a world-wide initiative celebrating the brigade's 125th anniversary.
"We will clean up as much as we can in four hours, with the muscle we have," said Brigade Captain David Semos.
Not only will they be diving, but also walking and swimming their way to a more beautiful community. Due to the intensive nature of work being done, Mr. Semos asks the boating community to steer clear of Barrs Park between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., if possible.
The Royal Bermuda Yacht Club will be providing the group with lunch, while Marine Police will assist them with diverting marine traffic safely.
In addition the Corporation of Hamilton will be doing their best to remove all of debris recovered in the clean-up.
The Christian youth group has been doing their part in the local community since 1960.
