Thieves snatched a handbag from a motorcycle basket in Spanish Point on Tuesday. The theft took place at 10.55 p.m. near the junction of North Shore Road, in Pembroke.

A 37-year-old Pembroke woman was riding a motorcycle when two unknown men on a motorcycle grabbed the bag, which contained two cellular phones and personal items. She was not injured as a result of the theft.

The pillion passenger on the suspects' motorcycle was described as wearing dark coloured clothing and a silver helmet. Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information to contact the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 295-0011.
