St. Paul's AME minister Lanel Guyton to speak at Labour Day banquet
A preacher and community activist who strives to address the issues facing Bermuda from a Biblical perspective will be the keynote speaker at the Bermuda Industrial Union's Labour Day Banquet.
Reverend Lanel Guyton, a pastor at St. Paul's AME Church since 2005, will speak at the banquet on Friday, August 29, 2008 at Fairmont Southampton Resort & Spa.
Tickets cost $90 and are available at BIU headquarters.
Rev. Guyton will also be joined by Senator Marc Bean who will speak about his vision for eliminating the problems the Island is currently facing with the young boys and girls.
Rev. Guyton is a third generation preacher who graduated Allen University in South Carolina, cum laude in 1995. He attained a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology and Social Work and has also completed an associates degree in Criminal Justice.
Following his bachelor's degree, he enrolled at the Turner Seminary at the Interdenominational Theological Centre in Atlanta, Georgia for his Masters of Divinity degree. He graduated with this in 1998.
