This year's Bermuda Day Parade will begin at 1.30 p.m. on Monday, May 25.

Announcing the route in a statement yesterday, Culture Minister Dale Butler said it will leave from Albuoy's Point on Front Street, and move along Front Street to Court Street, Church Street, Cedar Avenue and Dutton Avenue before ending at Bernard Park for celebrations.

Mr. Butler said float builders need to be at Bermudiana Road from 11.30 a.m. to collect winning ribbons, plaques and certificates.

Dance participants and all other groups and bands must be at their meeting point at Albuoy's Point and Barrs Park by 1 p.m.

The Minister stated: "Bermuda Day is special this year as we mark 400 years of settlement in 2009. It is a day that we have traditionally come together as Bermudians — residents and visitors alike — to celebrate our diversity and our uniqueness.

"I would like to take this opportunity to encourage the community to come out and participate in the Bermuda Day celebrations and welcome participation from all segments of the community."
