Benevides named COO of Corp. of Hamilton
Edward Benevides has been appointed to the newly-formed post of chief operating officer and secretary to the Corporation of Hamilton.
Mr. Benevides has spent the last six months with the Corporation on a contractual basis and will oversee its day-to-day operations.
Prior to joining the Corporation, he was senior vice president of Card Services at Capital G Bank Limited, for three years.
For four years before that, he held the position of vice president of Information Technology, Electronic Banking & eCommerce at Butterfield Bank.
While there, he led three departments totalling more than 130 people.
In addition, Mr. Benevides is an Alderman of the Corporation of St. George's and chairman of trustees and vice chairman of deacons at Wellington Baptist Church. He sits on the Bermuda Hospitals Board.
Mr. Benevides is a certified information systems auditor, has a certificate in business administration and is a graduate of the Richard Ivey MBA Executive Programme. He is a member of the Institute of Leadership and Management in the UK.
