Robin Mehta has been hired to lead the Bermuda office of insurance broker Beecher Carlson.

Prior to joining the company, Mr. Mehta was chief financial officer/chief operating officer of Hiscox Insurance Company (Bermuda) Ltd.

He has been appointed executive managing director of the broker and risk consultancy.

Mr. Mehta began his career in Bermuda with Ernst and Young and then working in the captive, brokerage and financial areas of the insurance/reinsurance industry.

He went on to build his leadership profile as the president of Inter-Ocean Reinsurance Company.

"Rob's expertise makes him the ideal choice to expand our capabilities in Bermuda," said Steve Denton, president of Beecher Carlson.

"His alternative risk and captive management experience will be invaluable to our current and future clients."

Mr. Mehta is a graduate of the University of Toronto, Canada, with a Bachelor of Commerce. He is a member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants.
