Battling snow, strong winds, pelting rain and finally blue skies, former company executive John Buckley, wearing Bermuda kit, finished the Tokyo Marathon on Sunday in a field of 35,028.
An avid walker, Buckley crossed the line in five hours, 47 minutes and three seconds.
"I tired but pleased", said Buckley. "It was a wonderful experience as the people of Tokyo organised a fantastic event."
Japanese runners swept the board with Masakazu Fujiwara gaining his first ever title in two hours, 12 minutes and 19 seconds.
