Before I get into this week's topic I want to update you with Baltimore Blast news.

We played two games over the weekend, one at home on Friday against Monterrey and the other against Rockford away, and emerged with two wins.

The players showed great character and unity especially knowing that any defeat would have hindered our chances of making the play-offs.

We play away against Philadelphia Kixx this Sunday in a game that we really need to win as winning would put some pressure on other teams.

The one good thing about this match is that Bermuda's John Barry Nusum, who is injured, will not be playing for Kixx .

Nusum always gives us a tough time and with him not being there will take some pressure off our defenders.

But his team have plenty of veterans and young talent as well that will keep us busy for the whole game.

My topic this week is about our reflection and what we see in the mirror.

The definition of reflection – the image of something as reflected by a mirror.

The mirror is an item some people take for granted and should be more aware of its full value.

It should not only be used to see if your outfit looks good or hair and make-up is in order for when your leaving the house. Because no matter how beautiful you may look on the outside there is a deeper image that needs to been seen in the inside.

Looking in the mirror deeply is a good way to know what type of person you have become. See, the mirror does not lie, the mirror will show you your true reflection, you will not have to wait for the answer nor will you need to get a second opinion.

It will give you a true and accurate result on who you are, it will not shade off any parts of your life nor will it care if your feelings get hurt.

Looking in the mirror has been known to change lives and rebuild people if used correctly. The mirror has made many people proud and has a high success rate.

It is known to be one of the best tools used when wanting to learn more about yourself. But to get the best result you have to accept who stands before it and make whatever changes are necessary.

The next time you stand in the mirror I want you to look deep to see who you really are, look deep and see if you like who you have become, look hard and see if you are pleased with the outcome, then take that last look and ask yourself if the reflection you see is really you.

Any reflection in the mirror seen is yours and no one else's and if you do not like that reflection then only you have the right to change it because it will not change on its own. That will be your responsibility.

Many have not had the courage to stand in the mirror because they are afraid of the outcome. I say to you that you have nothing to lose because great moments in life get lost when we stand still not knowing who we really are.

I have stood in the mirror many times and seen my true reflection, I have seen mistakes I have made in my life, but there was one point when I stood in denial.

But after accepting who I had become I made a cry for change, I had to rebuild my character, set higher goals and limit my mistakes.

Acceptance of who we are is key and only you are responsible of where you are standing in life today.
