Foundation's generous $885,000 to causes
Local charities have benefited from $885,000 handed out by the Bank of Bermuda Foundation.
The eleven organisations selected all aim to improve quality of life. The funds will aid projects ranging from supporting promising athletes to assisting the elderly and homeless and promoting academic achievement.
The recipients are the Adult Education School, the Bermuda National Gallery, the Centre on Philanthropy, CTY Bermuda, Habitat for Humanity, Open Airways, the National Dance Foundation Bermuda, the Bermuda Olympic Association, the Reading Clinic, the Salvation Army and the Westmeath Rest and Nursing Care Home.
The Bank of Bermuda Foundation, which also offers several scholarships, has donated more than $43.8 million to charitable causes since 1989. Information on how to apply can be found in a brochure available from all Bank of Bermuda branches or the website www.bankofbermuda.com.
