Volunteers will dress up to promote healthy eating
Watch out for some giant bananas ambling around the City of Hamilton this afternoon.
Volunteers dressed as the yellow fruit will be handing them out to passers-by as part of a stunt to promote next Tuesday's Argus Health Fair. They will be championing the fair's theme: 'Five Ways to Five-a-Day', which highlights the importance of eating enough servings of fruit and vegetables.
Argus president Gerald Simons said in a press release: "Visitors to the Argus booth will obtain information on the importance of eating five or more servings of fruit and vegetables a day.
"We want people to know that daily choices in nutrition can affect their lives over the long-term. A simple act, such as eating a banana, can be a step toward a healthy lifestyle."
If you want a free banana, lurk around Hamilton between noon and 2 p.m. today until you see one of the banana people.
