The 32-year-old victim was walking along the street around 1.45 a.m. on M Monday when he was attacked by four men who demanded his money.

He was allegedly punched in the face and hit with a piece of pipe.

The offenders fled with his jacket and a small amount of cash.

The victim suffered facial injuries and bruising to his body.

Police are investigating three assaults which took place within hours of each other last Saturday.

A 33-year-old woman told Police she was attacked around 3.45 a.m. that day as she walked along Rosemont Avenue, near the junction with Richmond Road in Pembroke.

She said a man -- described as a black male between five-feet, five-inches and five-feet, seven-inches tall and wearing a black hooded sweat top and rust coloured trousers -- attacked her from behind and dragged her to the ground.

The victim screamed and attracted the attention of a passing taxi driver at which point the offender was believed to have fled.

Anyone who may be able to assist Police with the inquiry is asked to contact Central CID at 295-0011.

Police are also looking into a report of an assault at a reggae concert last Saturday night.

Shortly before midnight, a 35-year-old security guard was trying to control a crowd entering the Number One Shed on Front Street when he became involved in an altercation.

He was reportedly knocked unconscious and suffered a cut to his eye which required several stitches.

He was detained at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital overnight, following treatment.

A Canadian visitor was also injured on Saturday night, following a fight with several local youths.

The incident occurred around 2.20 a.m. at a local night club after an argument.

The 21-year-old victim was taken to hospital where he was treated for a head injury.

Police inquiries are continuing.
