Annual `brains' contest underway

Who held the post of vice president of the United States between 1969 and 1973? Of which country is Lusaka the capital? If you can answer these and other general knowledge questions, you probably should have entered this week's Brains of Bermuda contest.

The annual trivia showdown between teams of three got underway on Monday night at Daylesford in Hamilton and will continue every evening this week, culminating with the final on Friday night.

Forty teams entered, each of them pledging cash to various Bermuda charities.

The competition is being aired live on VSB radio every evening this week, starting at 7.30.

And, in case you didn't know, the answers to the above questions are: Marie Curie; Spiro Agnew; Zambia.
