Neville Jerome Sinclair Gumbs, of Middletown Lane, Pembroke, admitted obstructing an officer during a Magistrates' Court appearance last month.

But the 16-year-old had denied using offensive words on September 29 outside the school.

Gumbs was ordered to return to court on Monday to be tried on the offensive words charge.

Yesterday, prosecutor Sgt. Phil Taylor informed Acting Senior Magistrate Edward King that Police did not plan to offer any evidence on the charge.

Mr. King then ordered a social inquiry report and adjourned the case until January 14 when he will sentence the teen on the obstruction conviction.
