Chamber offers $1,700 Dale Carnegie courses
in September.
Three Dale Carnegie programmes have been organised by the Chamber of Commerce under the training of Mr. Mahan Tavakoli and Mr. John Stout.
Mr. Tavakoli is director of quality and training for Dale Carnegie in the Washington area. He is a consultant for organisations including Black & Decker and the US Department of Agriculture.
Mr. Stout is a local instructor who recently became a qualified Dale Carnegie instructor.
Course literature states: "To survive in today's business world, you are expected not only to manage, but also to motivate, empower, lead, inspire and organise, but to be successful, you must also balance the needs of the team with the need for profits. If you don't have the skills to co-ordinate them the responsibilities can be overwhelming.'' The three courses at the Chamber of Commerce, will be "Effective Speaking and Human Relations,'' "Leadership Training for Managers'' and "Customer Service Excellence''.
The first course begins on Monday, September 13 and will run, two sessions per week, for six weeks. The cost is $1,700 for Chamber of Commerce members and $2,200 for non-members. A refund of $500 will be given to every applicant who completes the course.
