staff quarters have apparently disappeared.

Last month a reporter from The Royal Gazette discovered a man sleeping in a furnished room on the site and evidence of other inhabitants throughout the buildings on Victoria Road, St. George's.

But yesterday Works and Engineering Minister Alex Scott said officers had found no squatters on the property since the report.

And he attributed Government's "stern warning'' of prosecution to the absence of freeloaders.

He went on to say security had been increased in the area with both himself and technical officers making frequent and irregular visits to the area.

Mr. Scott said the problem of squatters was a crucial matter as it "compromised'' insurance coverage and lowered the appeal of the property to potential investors.
