Spokesman P.c. Gary Venning said Police responded to a call at Old Road, Hamilton Parish around 10.30 p.m. on Monday and intervened in a dispute between the couple.

As the officers approached the man he lashed out at them, shouting offensive language.

P.c. Venning said the man was then arrested and taken to the St. George's Police Station.

The woman was not believed to have been injured, but inquiries into the incident were continuing.
