Nearby householders should brace themselves for loud noises while Police carry out training exercises using blank ammunition.

The exercises will be held between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. today and tomorrow.

On Friday the exercise will run from 5 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Police spokeswoman Sgt. Roseanda Jones said: "Loud noises can be expected in the surrounding area.

"We will make every effort to keep the noise to a minimum. We apologise for any inconveniences this training exercise may cause.''
