Sedfwick set for name change
Services (Bermuda) Ltd, effective January 1, 1993.
The change is being made as part of a worldwide restructuring of its ultimate parent, the UK-based Sedgwick Group Plc.
From the New Year, the Sedgwick Group will trade under the single name of Sedgwick worldwide.
Headquartered in London, Sedgwick provides risk consultancy, insurance broking, employee benefit and financial services from more than 230 locations in 56 countries.
In 1991, the company had about 12,800 employees and annual revenues of $1.163 billion.
Sedgwick James (Bermuda) Ltd. is the Bermuda-based captive management and brokerage operation of the group.
The company currently employs 31 people and manages 70 captives. In 1991, gross premium volume of the captives was $349 million.
The Bermuda operation is the largest of the captive management operations Sedgwick James runs in all the major captive domiciles, including the Isle of Man, Luxembourg, Guernsey, Singapore, Vermont, Barbados, Curacao and Dublin.
