James re-elected as BCBC boss
re-elected as president of the Bermuda Cricket Board of Control.
Unopposed, James graciously accepted the responsibility of leading the local game for yet another term, his fourth since being named to replace long serving chief Ed Bailey, who resigned under pressure back in 1997. "I don't get excited or happy or an eager boost from being elected,'' said James. "The first thing that comes to mind is that I got put back in to represent the game of cricket.'' There were a few changes in James' executive committee with former first vice-president Randy Horton notifying by letter of his decision not to contest the position this year.
With Horton not standing long-serving officer Reggie Pearman moved up from second vice-president to first. Ellsworth Christopher is second vice-president, Neil Speight returns as treasurer, Charlotte (Molly) Simons returns as secretary, Hoyt Zuill is the new assistant secretary, replacing Allan Douglas. Club representatives are Cleon Scotland, George Holdipp, Clevie Wade, John Tucker, Tom Wainwright and Sharon Virgil.
