Martin Gould faces a string of charges in America after a bid to photograph Michael Kennedy's estranged wife, Victoria. He allegedly tried to force her to pull off a road.

Gould, a reporter for a New York tabloid, was following up claims her husband, son of slain Sen. Robert Kennedy, had an affair with the family's baby sitter.

Charges against Gould include assaulting members of the Kennedy family, driving to endanger, speeding and failing to stop.

He is also accused of assaulting landscapers who were reportedly summoned to help Mrs. Kennedy.

Last month two charges he assaulted Victoria Kennedy and her sister-in-law Rory Kennedy were dropped.

Gould, an Englishman who now works for The Star magazine, has been appearing in courts in Massachusetts and Hingham. He denies all charges.

He was scheduled to appear in Hingham last week, but the hearing was put off.

"The case is being consolidated so I only have to appear in one court, not two,'' he said.

The case had been adjourned until the early part of July, he added.
