Claudette is now classed as tropical depression -- and not considered a threat to Bermuda.

At noon yesterday, the depression was 322 nautical miles north west of Bermuda and was not expected to move closer than 272 nautical miles north by north west of the Island.

The nearest approach was expected around 8 p.m. last night.

The depression formed off the coast of the Carolinas early on Saturday morning.
