Neville James Woods, of Cooks Hill Road, pleaded guilty to breaking into the home of Randolph Stines at Scott's Hill Road with intent to steal.

Stines heard noise outside his door around 1.45 p.m. on Monday and confronted Woods who was at the door, Insp. Peter Duffy, prosecuting, said.

Woods ran off. And Stines noticed that he had removed four louvre panes and forced in the security screen.

Woods, who was arrested shortly afterward, told Police he broke into Stines' house to get money for fines which were imposed on him earlier on Monday.

Insp. Duffy said Woods was very cooperative with Police and seemed remorseful.

Woods, who is an unemployed father, was released from prison on April 7 for breaking into four homes and Salvation Army headquarters.

Senior Magistrate the Wor. Will Francis, who fined Darrell $200 for resisting arrest and a traffic offence on Monday, decided to order the social inquiry report after hearing from his probation officer.
