Police spokesperson Evelyn James-Barnett said the woman told Police she was carrying a number of Christmas gifts home on her cycle when they were stolen on Thursday.

The woman was travelling home around 8.20 p.m. when she noticed that the cardboard box containing the gifts -- which had been sitting on the back of the bike -- was missing.

Ms James-Barnett said the box contained a longtail brooch, a silk tie, two sweaters and a compact disc.
