Darrell Clark, 34, of Conyers, Dill and Pearman law firm, said: "I wish to give my pledge that I will discharge my functions and duties as a barrister and attorney-at-law with skill, enthusiasm and integrity, always upholding the rule of law and the pursuit of justice.'' Mr. Clark graduated from Berkeley Institute and began his five-year mission for a law degree at Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland.

After graduation, he attended the University of Buckingham and Hugh Wooding Law School in Trinidad, graduating in July 2000.

Although only recently joining the Bermuda Bar, Mr. Clark has been a member of the Trinidadian Bar since February 2001.

Mr. Clark told The Royal Gazette : "The educational process was very long, but not difficult. The law degree was a pleasure and almost recreation.

"The Bar was not. It required a great mastery of many subjects but most importantly, the skills that allow a lawyer to find out what he or she needs to complete the task.

"It was extremely competitive and we had to work very hard. The (Bar) standards are extremely high,'' he added.
