Robert Evans, of Cloverdale Road, Devonshire, was spotted "popping wheelies'' at speed on Barker's Hill on March 23 by Police officers.

When they put on their siren, he sped up and weaved in and out of traffic in a bid to escape.

Police followed him along Middle Road where he lost control of his bike and crashed at the junction with Vesey Street.

Evans, 17, then tried to run away but the officers caught him.

He pleaded guilty before Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner yesterday to dangerous driving, driving without insurance, driving an unlicensed bike, not having a driver's licence and fraudulent use of documents.
