BA could add flight

becoming "very much a possibility'' as local airline staff negotiate next year's flight schedules, BA spokeswoman Mrs. Sallie Singleton said yesterday.

"It's looking very good,'' she told The Royal Gazette . "We have requested three regular flights for winter 1995 and we are very hopeful that we'll get them.'' She said BA's head office in London has already confirmed that an additional Friday flight will be added to the current two flights during March -- the earliest month of the year in which three weekly flights have ever been operated between London and Bermuda.

British Airways now serves the Island on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

Mrs. Singleton also said local staff are working toward securing three and possibly four weekly flights to Bermuda during the summer months, although she stressed that any flight scheduling beyond March has yet to be confirmed.

Once the expected three flights a week are acquired for next summer, Mrs.

Singleton added, the airline's Bermuda team will seek to have them extended during the winter.

"I think the Bermuda market could support that. The fact that we have three for March is a positive sign. We expect to know very soon.''
