Mark Burrows, 16, was overtaking cars just after the junction of Parliament and Victoria Streets on the morning of March 19, when he struck a car which was turning onto Victoria Street. The court heard that the weather was sunny and dry, with good visibility, on the day in question. There was damage done to the bike, and the car was dented. The student, from West Side Road, Sandys, was towing his younger cousin at the time. The passenger received minor grazes.
Magistrate William Francis admonished Burrows for failing to "keep a good lookout'', before fining him $200.
