Mr. Darrell is to appear at a news conference today with Premier the Hon. Sir John Swan and lawyer Mr. Philip Perinchief, who has broken with the Progressive Labour Party over its decision to boycott the August 15 Independence referendum.

Yesterday, Mr. Darrell said the coalition is not a new political party and the NLP remains a separate entity. But the NLP is now calling for a "yes'' vote in the referendum, despite the fact the stand has cost the party a couple of members, he said.

The coalition is to hold an Independence rally at Number One Shed at 8 p.m.

And tonight at 8 p.m., the PLP will hold the latest in its series of "abstain campaign'' meetings at Francis Patton School in Hamilton Parish.
