Rockfish continue to scale standings

Marlins showed that they are still the biggest fish in the sea by maintaining their position atop the tables.

The latest victims of the Rockfish express were Barracuda, who had their teeth pulled in losing 3-1. Basil Gibbons led the way for the victors with a 505 series enabling his side to remain in second place.

Going one better was Marlins as they whitewashed a hapless Cow Pollies outfit 4-0 with the duo of Barry DeCouto and Joe Correia rolling first and second high series, 563 and 555.

Third place Wahoo kept within two points of the leaders, easing by Dolphins 3-1.

It was a similar score in the match-up between Porgies and Snappers with the Porgies getting the better of things.

The only other result saw Tuna blast Pirahnas 4-0 and move into fourth place overall.

In Warriors League action Mohawk, Choctaw and Mohican all christened the newly resurfaced lanes at Warwick Bowl with resounding wins over Kickapoo, Blackfoot and Navaho respectively.

The husband and wife team of Hilton and Deborah Cholmondely were in devastating form, racking up series of 497 and 448 to spearhead Mohawk's attack, while teammates Charlene Charves and Noelene Jones lent solid support, each with 401 series. The end result was a 4-0 thrashing of their opponents.

Choctaw also showed that they have what it takes to challenge for top honours using series of 479 and 471 from Michael Lee and Lejay Robinson to aid their cause against Blackfoot. Choctaw won the match 4-0.

Navaho were able to grab a point off Mohican but that was the only success they would enjoy on an otherwise miserable night.

Remaining matches had Apache draw 2-2 with Commanche as did Cherokee and Cheyenne.

Lane schedule for Friday: Navaho v Choctaw; Cheyenne v Mohican; Cherokee v Mohawk; Blackfoot v Commanche; Kickapoo v Apache.
