"Injuries caused by intentional and unintentional actions represent a significant health problem throughout the world, and Bermuda is no exception,'' she said.
"According to World Health Organisation figures, children and adolescents are found to be most at risk as victims of injury and violence.
"The WHO is hoping to change the perception that accidents are acts of fate or something unavoidable.'' Schools are being encouraged to remind students of the preciousness of life with special events, she added.
