damaging a Police constable's car.

Ejuan Vincent Landy, 18, of Great Bay Road, and Andrew Hall, 16, of Cashew City Road, appeared in Magistrates' Court on Monday and pleaded guilty to causing unlawful damage to an officer's private car.

The officer was told by his mother that someone had been throwing rocks at her house.

He later phoned his brother, who had his car, to tell him of the incident only to learn that rocks had also been thrown at his car.

Landy and Hall said they were throwing the rocks in revenge for their friend who was arrested by the officer on Halloween night.

The front windshield of the car had to be replaced and the car had to be repainted. The damages amounted to $5,500.

Magistrate Edward King decided the youths should spend some time thinking.

"The offence is a serious one. I take into account your ages. They may still be salvageable.

"I'm sending them to Co-ed where they will have time to think, think and think,'' he said.

A social inquiry report was also ordered for both youths.
