A new 30-day advance purchase fare of $524 for midweek travel in the winter and $799 for midweek travel in the summer replace the old 90-day advance purchase prices.

In addition, seven day and 14-day advance fares are being revised.

Local BA manager Philip Troake said: "We are on the doorstep of the most competitive aviation market in the world and to meet our customers' expectations, must offer a fare structure that is both affordable and easy to understand.

"We have simplified our tariff, thrown in some fare reductions and, most significantly, now let our customers book at relatively short notice without waiting for a seat sale.''
