Opposition Leader Jennifer Smith said the PLP had received reports from "at least two locations'' that copies of yesterday's Royal Gazette had been delivered without copies of the Party's platform.

"We are not placing blame on the company who we are contracted with...but there are too many examples where we try to do something and our efforts are thwarted -- and this is not the first general election this has happened,'' she said. But yesterday The Royal Gazette circulation manager delMonte Davis stated: "Both the client and ourselves are satisfied that insufficient quantities were delivered to the newspaper.'' He added that although it was not typical to discuss clients' business, he commented in this instance because of the "sensitive nature'' of the issue.

And PLP secretary Walter Roban saidt he was "quite satisfied'' with Mr.

Davis' comments. But he defended the PLP's decision to print the platform abroad. He said the layout and presentation were done in Bermuda. "The only aspect that was done overseas was the actual printing -- and that was done by a machine,'' he added. Mr. Roban's comments supported statements made by the PLP in their Press conference.
