Police spokesman Gary Venning said allegedly a dispute started over the sale of a car at around 1.30 p.m. on Monday afternoon and the victim was knocked to the floor and punched several times.

She was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital by ambulance from the residence at Loyal Hill and it was discovered that beside some facial bruising, she also had a broken jaw.

P.c. Venning said a 26-year-old Devonshire man had been arrested in connection with the incident.
