Bank loses grocery ATMS
ATM from The MarketPlace's Shelly Bay Plaza.
The request came after the Bank of Bermuda removed its ATM from The MarketPlace's Heron Bay Plaza store just a few months ago.
Mr. Alan Richardson, senior vice president of Retail Banking of the Bank of Bermuda, said: "We are at this time actively working to secure an alternative location for the Shelly Bay ATM and we will advise our customers in due course.'' Mr. Allen Doughty, executive vice president of The MarketPlace, told The Royal Gazette that the grocery chain would be advising their customers of the changes in due course.
The Bank of Bermuda's ATM will close on November 6 so that the Bank of Butterfield can install an ATM at the Shelly Bay store.
Mr. Doughty said The MarketPlace was dealing with the Bank of N.T. Butterfield because the grocery store was "looking at (its) total picture'' and it had received "a better deal from the Bank of Butterfield''.
He declined to reveal details of the agreement but said The MarketPlace was negotiating to get the Bank of Butterfield's ATMs into all of its chains.
