Guidelines for Cup Match campers
around the Island.
And the Parks Department issued some guidelines for those who wish to camp outside the three main campgrounds -- Ferry Point Park in St. George's, Coney Island Park in Hamilton Parish, and Chaplin Bay in Warwick -- during the holiday.
Campers may erect tents, but not camp on July 31, a department spokesman said.
Camping will be permitted from July 31 until August 4.
All camping supplies should be removed by Monday morning, August 5.
The gates to Daniel's Head Beach will be opened from July 31 to August 4, but there will be no parking on the narrow entry road due to the need for emergency access, the spokesman said.
And there will be no camping in nature reserves, particularly Blue Hole Park in Hamilton Parish and Daniel's Head Nature Reserve in Somerset.
Park gates at permitted camping sites will be opened during the day on July 31 to allow campers to set up, the spokesman said. Park rangers will lock the gates at 9 p.m.
Rangers will be on duty on the night of July 31, and both days of Cup Match, August 1 and 2 until 10 p.m. to assist park users.
For further information call the Park Ranger office at 236-5902 or 236-4201.
