Ms Ferguson will step in from today, when current CEO George Smith leaves to take over as chief executive officer at the Bermuda Land Development Company.

Wedco chairman Walter Lister MP paid tribute to Mr. Smith.

"Mr. Smith has been with the Corporation for the past 13 years. During that time he has made a valuable contribution to the development of the Dockyard as a whole,'' said Mr. Lister.
