appointment of Nicholas Sallnow-Smith as the group's chief executive.

He replaces Percy Weatherall, who has been appointed Managing Director of Jardine Matheson. Mr. Weatherall remains a director of the company.

Mr. Sallnow-Smith has been Finance Director of Hongkong Land since 1998, prior to which, he was Group Treasurer of Jardine Matheson for five years.

Chairman of Hongkong Land, Simon Keswick, said: "Nick Sallnow-Smith has an in-depth knowledge of the group and is well qualified to assume the role of chief executive.'' Hongkong Land is a property investment, management and development group with a major portfolio in Hong Kong and with other property and infrastructure interests in Asia.
