Cheaper Web access on offer

offer their residential customers cheaper Web access.

TeleBermuda International Limited (TBI) and North Rock Communications Limited (NRC) said yesterday that all existing and new TBI residential customers who spend $89 or more in long distance services each month will receive an E-coupon credit of $24 or "Monthly Ten'' access for their NRC Internet account.

TBI General Manager James Fitzgerald said: "We are very pleased to be able to offer this innovative package to the Bermuda market.

"As we continue in our commitment to drive down the cost of voice and data services in Bermuda we continually look for innovative new ways to provide added value for our customers.

"This package does just that. For every month one of our residential customers spends just $89 in long distance service, TeleBermuda in conjunction with North Rock will pay for the first ten hours of their Internet access.'' Added NRC General Manager Tom Coelho: "In January we reduced our access rates up to ten percent and our customers have positively responded to this decrease. "Now, we are thrilled to continue to work with TeleBermuda to provide our customers with even more savings. North Rock customers will receive the Monthly Ten or $24 credit to their account automatically. We will receive an E-coupon from TBI for all individuals that have spent $89 on long distance services in the previous month.

"Our billing system will apply the credit to their North Rock Internet account. The customer benefits with substantial savings and they do not have to do anything extra. We are proud that our collaborative relationship with TeleBermuda has provided North Rock with savings which we can pass on to our customers.'' Cheaper Web access offered Mr. Fitzgerald said it was hoped that the scheme would encourage TBI customers who did not use NRC to switch to that company and encourage NRC customers who did not use TBI to switch over to them.
