Instead she said the Council would be recommending that more should be done to get the current limit of 35 kph enforced.

Said Ms Bean-Burrows: "The RSC has been petitioned vigorously by people claiming that it's time for the speed limit to be reviewed.

"But last week we adopted a position and that is that the speed limit should stand.'' Ms Bean-Burrows added that the design of Bermuda's roads, coupled with congestion and the wide variety of vehicles using those roads were all reasons for keeping the limit at its current level.
