Bermuda has scored a publicity hit with a cover story on a US corporate publication.

The Island is featured on a six-page spread in the trade magazine, Corporate Meetings and Incentives, extolling the success of bonus trips for US employees.

Focusing on the much-publicised Bermuda day out for 1,200 employees of a Boston furniture firm, the twice-yearly magazine devotes the first few pages of its latest edition to the event.

The publication is targeted at the business incentive market, for companies who are looking to reward their employees and could lead to more trade for the Island.

Already one vacation company has set up a division to try and drum up business for the Island.

TNT launched a section after organising the successful event for Jordan's Furniture in May and having their own birthday celebration for US and UK staff at Elbow Beach.

They cite the smooth running of the Jordan's party and close proximity of Bermuda to the US east coast as attractions for company bosses looking for an innovative way of thanking workers.

The Jordan's party brought over $500,000 of business to the Island, with caterers, transport firms and entertainers combining to ensure the day went without a hiccup.

Corporate Meetings and Incentives reporter Regina Baraban detailed the day's proceedings, which brought Bermuda TV coverage from all four of Boston's major TV networks and daily newspapers.
