Bermuda-based Global Crossing said on Friday it is to set up a super-fast line across the Atlantic to link London and New York.
The company said it would carry commercial traffic between the two cities on 2.5 gigabit per second.
The company said that the move would expand Global Crossing's capabilities for undersea high-performance, high-capacity traffic.
And it added that it would seamlessly merge European and North American networks for concurrent applications such as Web hosting, content distribution, high-speed Internet, and video on demand.
