a low pressure system moves away from blowing up a storm on the US East Coast.

Bermuda Weather Service spokeswoman Kimberley Stevenson said tonight and much of tomorrow will be affected by showers and winds of up to 40 knots.

But she added that because of the southerly direction of the winds, the temperature would not be dipping much below the upper 50s.

"Winds will be between 30 and 40 knots on Tuesday and small craft and gale warnings will probably be in effect for most of the week because the seas will be pretty high,'' Mrs. Stevenson said.
